About This Event
Bhimsen Thapa is the first Nepali-language play doing its second run in various community halls and theatres in the UK. The play is based on the first Prime Minister of Nepal, whose military strategy in war and trade deals in peacetime protected Nepal’s sovereignty from the East India Company and prevented her colonisation.
He was the first non-Royal to rule Nepal. His dedication to his country earned him the place of a National Hero. The play captures the later years of his life, filled with betrayal and his ultimate downfall leading to his death.
